CREATIVITY AS DIVINE PLAY: Masks Borne of Dreams Workshop
A MARION WOODMAN AFFILIATED WORKSHOP

This small workshop for women will be held at a private retreat center ½ hour walk from Jug Handle State Reserve beach in Mendocino. In this lovely natural setting participants will experience what it is to be held by the Divine Feminine and how our having strong but open hearts & psyches will let each participant be carried into the Underworld, the Realm of Persephone. This is the place of warm acceptance where we can ‘die before we die’ and find the real treasure, our authentic Virgin selves (she who belongs only to herself & her destiny in this life).

The focus will be on integrating Jungian psychology grounded in the work of Marion Woodman, which focuses on redeeming the feminine, through bringing consciousness into the body soul. The Incubation practice of Peter Kingsley will provide the roots for this endeavor and deepen the process.

The emphasis is on opening each participant to the Imaginal Realm as it lives within our fertile receptive body souls. We will work with the Persephone Demeter Myth, dreams, movement (yoga, tai chi, dance, voice work & specific embodied exercises) that will open us to our creativity bringing new insights into our inner workings and teaching us ways to foster and protect this tender new way of being. Through a mask making process coming out of this descent into the Underworld, participants will open themselves to the aspects of Divine Presence & Sacred Play as they learn the freedom to be in a deeply creative process.

To deepen this process, Watsu will be offered by two practitioners of this divine water massage in the womb of the 96-degree water close to the yurt where we meet each day in redwood surrounded meadows. It is highly recommended that you consider having this experience, as the transformational potentials of this experience of being lovingly held in water are extraordinary.

Cost: $390 for Fri evening, Sat day session, catered evening meal & session, Sun morning & afternoon sessions ending in late afternoon. Watsu is not included & you will pay practitioners directly. Watsus can be arranged for ahead of time for best times with $120 payment going to these two women separately. If you are on the fence about this, it is advised to at least bring your checkbooks for last minute sign ups.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES (FYI)
1. Participants will develop an understanding of the Sacred Feminine through various forms of embodied experience, as taught by Marion Woodman, Mary Hamilton & Ann Skinner in their BodySoul Rhythms Leadership Training Programs.

2. Participants will develop and deepen their understanding and experience of Jung’s concepts of the Complexes and their Archetypal Cores with an emphasis on Shadow and how these relate to the Individuation Process.

3. Participants will develop and deepen their understanding and experience of dreams as they inform the unfolding of the Work.

4. Participants will have opportunities throughout the Intensive to create and give form to their internal process, as it emerges out of their embodied experiences of this deep work.

5. Participants will be introduced to the practice of Incubation (Peter Kingsley’s work based on Empedocles & Parmenides) that encourages the cultivation of our interior fertile ground of our being to prepare it for our human seeds to root, grow and flourish.
